Weekly Report 20: 2/04/2019 to 2/10/2019
This past week I began planning for my final product in the ISM program. To continue my portfolio building process, I will be developing a marketing video for my mentor, Mr. Brandon Frakes from the Go Local Group. This film will serve as the groundwork for my future career in creative advertising by providing an exemplary piece of material that can be shared to market my own skill-sets, but will also serve as a useful tool for my mentor’s company. The film will center around sharing the Go Local Group’s mission, familiarizing their audience with the members of their team, and showcasing the work that this company does through interviews and still shots.
In planning for this project, I realized that it is necessary to begin teaching myself how to maneuver my Canon Rebel t4i body and the additional lenses I have. Currently, I have a very limited understanding of all of the capabilities and manual functions that this DSLR espouses, so, in order to improve the quality of my filming for my final product, I will be studying the basics of this camera and putting the adjustments into practice with a photography collection. To get started, over the upcoming four day weekend, the plan is to adjust three separate settings in three distinct locations to showcase my knowledge. More than this minimum will be beneficial, but I would like to start small in order to gradually increase my knowledge of the manual settings on my camera. I will be documenting the techniques that I will be acquiring so that I can keep a record of my learning targets and will be able to refer back to this collection in order to operate the settings during the completion of my final product.
